2019｜Single-channel video
The video was shot with a cheap smartphone that I had for free when I had my previous telephone number. The main axis is the banner of the candidates randomly placed on the street. In the pictures that are changing rapidly, like dice, and interlacing without rules, and through the observation of these banners, I was meditating on the democratic system in Taiwan, the only democratic country of Chinese society. I was wondering how it operates. How do people here imagine a common future? And in what way do we cast the vote? Is it by observing the standardized makeup of the candidates on the banner, in the rapidly overlapping images, trying to identify the differences between each candidate, and reflecting on how the form of the societal order that organizes the entire society was built up?

La vidéo a été tournée avec un smart téléphone bon marché que j'ai reçu gratuitement lorsque j'avais mon nouveau numéro de téléphone de la compagnie de téléphone. L'axe principal de ce film est la bannière des candidats aux elections placée au hasard dans la rue. Dans les images qui changent rapidement comme des dés et s'entrelacent sans règles, à travers l'observation de ces bannières, je méditais sur comment se déroule le système démocratique à Taiwan — le seul pays démocratique ayant une origine lointaine chinoise ? Comment les gens d'ici imaginent-ils un avenir commun ? Et de quelle manière votons-nous ? Observer la composition standardisée des candidats sur leurs bannières, dans les images qui se superposent rapidement, essayer d'identifier les différences entre chaque candidat, et réfléchir comment mettre en forme l'ordre sociétal qui normalement organise toute la société dans ses fondations ?

用申辦門號送的零元手機廉價手機所拍攝的單頻錄像，以街頭隨機插設的候選人參選旗幟為主軸。在攝影作品猶如骰子般快速更替、無規則交錯的畫面中，黃迦思考民主制度如何在台灣落實？人們如何幻想一個共有的未來？又用什麼樣的方式投下手上的一票？觀察著旗幟上候選人標準化的妝容，在快速交疊的畫面中，試圖辨認每位參選人間的差異，反思組織起整個社會的秩序以何種形式構成？
