Fortune Teller

In this work, I continue to create in the form of co-creation, combining documentary photography and archive by going to the underground street to ask a number of fortune tellers to tell their fortunes, and they all asked the fortune tellers to answer: " What will my fate be during the epidemic?" The same question serves as a mirror, reflecting the twin fates of the fortune-teller and me. During the whole creative process, on the one hand, I experienced "fortune-telling", a form of high-level love and wisdom exchange between God and man, in which man speaks for God and guides the path of destiny for others. At the same time, I also observe, in which form has this cultural heritage, left over from China's 5,000-year history, survived to this day? And how did it completely lose the dignity of its original existence in today' s society? The fortune teller is the messenger of the vast and omniscient universe, but now he hides in the small wooden house in the underground street of Longshan Temple, and lives almost at the bottom of society. In the face of such social phenomena, I try to rediscover the true position of the traditional art of "fortune-telling" in contemporary society in the multiple dimensions of tradition and modernity, spirituality and science.

Dans ce travail, je continue de créer sous forme de co-création, mêlant photographie documentaire et archive en se rendant dans la rue souterraine pour demander à un certain nombre de diseurs de bonnes aventures: « Quel sera mon sort pendant l'épidémie ? » La même question sert de miroir, reflétant les destins jumeaux de la diseuse de bonne aventure et de moi. Pendant tout le processus de création, d'une part, j'ai fait l'expérience de la « diseuse de bonne aventure », une forme d'échange d'amour et de sagesse de haut niveau entre le dieu et l'homme, dans lequel l'homme parle pour comme un Dieu et guide le chemin du destin pour les autres. En même temps, j'observe aussi, sous quelle forme cet héritage culturel hérité des 5 000 ans d'histoire de la Chine a-t-il survécu jusqu'à ce jour ? Et comment perdre complètement la dignité de son existence originelle dans la société d'aujourd'hui ? Le diseur de bonnes aventures est le messager de l'univers vaste et omniscient, mais maintenant il se cache dans la petite maison en bois de la rue souterraine du temple de Longshan et vit une vie presque au bas de la société. Face à de tels phénomènes sociaux, j'essaie de redécouvrir la véritable place de l'art traditionnel de la « voyance » dans la société contemporaine dans les multiples dimensions de la tradition et de la modernité, de la spiritualité et de la science.

萬華算命

在這件作品中，我持續以共同創作的形式創作，結合紀實攝影、行為藝術、聲音和檔案處理，到地下街請多位算命仙為算命，並統一請算命仙回答：「疫情期間我的命運如何？」同一句問句作為鏡子映照算命仙與藝術家雙邊命運。在整個創作過程中，一方面我體驗著「算命」這樣一種人為神代言，為他人指引命運道途的天人間高層次愛的交流。同時也觀察，這個中國五千年歷史所遺留下的文化遺產，以哪一種形式留存至今，又如何在今天的社會徹底喪失其原始的存在的尊嚴？算命師既是浩瀚全知的天的傳訊者，卻又窩藏在龍山寺地下街的小木板房中過著近乎底層的生活。面對這樣的社會現象，在傳統與現代，靈性與科學等多重維度中，我試圖重新為「算命」這個傳統技藝，找到它在當代社會的真實定位。
