When making art in Taitung, I met the protagonist of the work, Po Chun HSU (also known as Ko-e), due to serendipitous circumstances. I entered Ko-e's life, and collaborated with electronic musician Yi Chin HUANG and Yuanzi, enabling the writing of electronic music to take place in the field. Collaboratively, we have produced this work - Cosmos Shrine, which features experimental sounds, documentary photography, and experimental videos.
By the sea in Fushan, Taitung, there is a temple without a congregation. In the temple live a mother and her son, who are both psychic. Whenever the deities descend, the mother would chant in the heavenly language to assist the souls of the deceased in elevation. The son, Ko-e, possesses the ability to channel messages from the above, which he would pass to those around him. Ko-e is about sixty years of age this year. He moved to the big city when he was in junior high school, and sustained himself as a laborer.
He married a Filipino wife at forty, but their marriage only survived a short year. Ko-e's father suffered from schizophrenia. Since Ko-e was a child, his psychic ability and unusual messages led to discriminatory jeering and exclusion by villagers. Three years ago, Ko-e's mother fell ill. Despite his discontent, Ko-e moved back to look after his mother. It was the first time he moved back home since he left when he was in junior high school.
The work, Sky Channeling revolves around Fushan Village in Beinan Township, Taitung County, and extends from the life of Ko-e, discovering the treacherously mystical yet profusely poetic world that informs his common, meager, everyday life. Through the work, Huang listens to the divine conversations between the psychic mother and son, which, infinite as they are, are largely overlooked by people.
In the work Skin, I invite Ko-e to film from his own perspective, and co-create with Yuanzi. Engaging with such marginality, I eagerly listen to the untamed voices that attempt to make their logic understood by the world, while searching for the imagistic language which enables me to pay tribute to these unadulterated, primal voices.

En réalisant des œuvres artistiques à Taïtung, j'ai fait la rencontre fortuite de Po Chun HSU, également connu sous le nom de Ko-e, qui allait être à l'origine de mon projet artistique. Grâce à lui, j'ai été introduit dans son entourage et ai collaboré avec les musiciens électroniques Yi Chin HUANG et Yuanzi pour intégrer la musique électronique à notre démarche artistique. Ensemble, nous avons créé le projet « Cosmos Shrine », qui mêle sons expérimentaux, photographies documentaires et vidéos expérimentales.
Sur les rives de la mer, dans la localité de Fushan, se trouve un temple sans congrégation, dans la ville de Taïtung. Là vivent une mère et son fils, tous deux dotés de capacités psychiques. Lorsque les divinités descendent, la mère chante dans une langue céleste pour aider les âmes des défunts à s'élever, tandis que son fils, Ko-e, canalise les messages divins qu'il transmet à ceux qui l'entourent. Aujourd'hui âgé d'environ 60 ans, Ko-e a quitté son village pour faire des études au collège avant de devenir ouvrier en ville. À 40 ans, il a épousé une femme originaire des Philippines, mais leur mariage n'a duré qu'un an. Enfant, Ko-e, dont le père souffrait de schizophrénie, a été rejeté par les villageois en raison de ses capacités psychiques et de ses propos déroutants. Il y a trois ans, sa mère est tombée malade, et malgré ses réticences, il est retourné s'occuper d'elle, retrouvant son foyer pour la première fois depuis ses études.
L'œuvre intitulée « Sky Channeling » est centrée sur Taïtung et explore la vie de Ko-e ainsi que le monde mystique et poétique qui imprègne son quotidien modeste. À travers cette œuvre, je suis témoin des conversations divines entre la mère et le fils, dotés de capacités psychiques hors normes, mais largement ignorés par la société. Dans l'œuvre « Skin », j'invite Ko-e à filmer son propre point de vue et à collaborer avec Yuanzi. En embrassant cette marginalité, je prête attention aux voix indomptées qui cherchent à faire comprendre leur importance tout en développant un langage visuel qui honore leur pureté et leur authenticité

臺東富山的海邊，有一間沒有信眾的宮廟，廟中住著一對通靈母子。每當神靈降落，媽媽就會吟唱起天界歌曲，協助亡靈晉升。兒子許仔則擁有天線，能接收到天上的訊息，將聖旨即時傳遞給周遭的人。許仔今年約莫六十歲，國中北上桃園做工，四十歲時娶了菲律賓太太，婚姻生活只短暫維持一年而告終。許爸是思覺失調症患者，許仔也因通靈及異常言語，從小被村中鄰人嘲笑排擠。三年前許仔媽媽生病，即便他滿心不願，仍得回來照顧媽媽，這也是他從國中離鄉後首次回鄉定居。
本作以臺東縣卑南鄉富山村為核心，順著許仔向外延伸，尋找許仔平凡窮困日常中的詭譎生猛、詩意盈滿的世界。透過作品傾聽通靈母子間浩瀚，及從不被人們注意的天人對話。在邊緣聲響的吟唱裡，我們渴望找到未被馴化，企圖讓天地聽懂自己的邏輯外的聲音，並用影像向素樸原始的聲音致敬。本系列包含兩件錄像作品：《繳》和《皮》，分別與電子音樂家黃一晉及元子合作完成，作品《皮》為許仔以手機拍攝而成的第一人稱作品。
